How to Download Your MyHeritage Raw Data

Quick instructions on how to download your raw genetic data from MyHeritage:

1) Log in to MyHeritage with your username and password.

You will likely also need to put in a two-factor authentication code.

2) Go to the DNA tab on the top navigation bar:

3) Click Manage DNA Kits.

4) Click the three dots to the right of the kit that you want to download. Choose Download kit.

5) Click Continue.

6) Confirm that you understand that your downloaded file is no longer secured by MyHeritage. Duh.

7) Wait for an email with link to continue the download. It should come pretty quickly.

Type in your password again.

8) Within a minute, you should see your data file being downloaded to whichever folder your downloaded files go to.

9) Next, be sure to move the data file to a safe location. Put it in a folder labeled "raw data" or "DNA" or "My Genes".

Also consider saving a copy of the file to wherever you back up your important files (USB drive, backup drive - wherever you keep your tax and bank records)
