Can I use a whole genome file?

A whole genome file, such as a .BAM or .CRAM file, will not work out-of-the-box on Genetic Lifehacks.

To use your whole genome file with Genetic Lifehacks, you’ll need to convert it into a format similar to raw data files from 23andMe or AncestryDNA. Once converted, your file will include all the SNPs found in those services, filling in all the genotypes included on Genetic Lifehacks.

Here's how to convert your whole genome file using WGS Extract.

If you aren't able to convert your whole genome yourself, there is a Genetic Lifehacks conversion service available for members for a fee for converting a BAM or CRAM file from Sequencing, Nebula, or Dante Labs.
